Internet users can now sign up for 24/7 access to the Celebrity Big Brother house on the Channel 4 website.
There had previously been some problems encountered by fans trying to register for the service, but according to Channel 4 these have been solved now. The problems were caused by "technical issues" related to a registration system Channel 4 has implemented for its 4oD service.
"we were using a new registration system with our old payment system which caused some bugs and issues – especially given the big volumes of traffic that we have seen on the site," a Channel 4 spokesperson explained.
The live TV stream is available to UK and Irish residents who have a 512kbps broadband connection and use Windows 2000 or XP. A season pass costs £4.99, and all registrations and payments should now be processed smoothly.
"The streaming issue has been fixed now and we have issued a statement in our forums and to our contact centres explaining what's happened. We are also issuing a refund to all customers who were incorrectly charged on their card," said a Channel 4 spokesperson.
Celebrity Big Brother began yesterday and this season's housemates include film director Ken Russell, singer and songwriter Leo Sayer and Kenny Everett's sidekick Cleo Rocos.
