Search engine Google is testing a new service that will let surfers search for information based on their location.

Google's search by location service helps you focus your search on a specific geographic location in the US.

So, for example, if you enter the search term "whisky bar" with the address "42nd Street, New York", Google produces a map, accompanied by associated links.

According to Google Labs: "Search by location is a work in progress. We're introducing it on Google Labs because we want to give you a chance to play with it and tell us what you think is helpful and what's not."

Google recently added a calculator to its search engine, which can be used for basic and more complicated sums, units of measure and conversions. You enter the calculation you'd like done, such as 4-2, into the search box and hit the Google Search button.
