Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, singer Kylie Minogue and footballer Wayne Rooney are bidding to become the next Prime Minister in an online spoof election.

Visitors to the www.may5election.com web site can quickly and easily register their vote for one of the three celebs by clicking on one of the corresponding coloured rosettes.

Jamie, sporting the red rosette of Labour claims he will "make Britain healthy" while Kylie (blue rosette) is trying to win on the "bring glamour back into politics" ticket. Wayne (yellow rosette) promises to "score goals against the opposition."

"General elections are generally dull and boring and many people don't even bother to vote," said the company responsible for the site, IncrediBull Ideas. "We thought it was timely to make this election fun and interesting and hopefully by voting for one of our would-be Prime Ministers, people will be encouraged to cast a serious vote on Election Day," said the company.

Kylie is currently ahead in the poll, with Jamie just four votes behind. Wayne is scoring neither goals or votes at the moment.
