Jamie Oliver offers online cooking show September 25, 2006 Quentin Reade
TV chef Jamie Oliver is to host an online cooking show and webchat.
Oliver, promoting new book 'Cook with Jamie', has teamed up with AOL and Penguin Books to offer the 45-minute, live online 'Cookcast'.
The show screens at 7pm Thursday 12 October, and is free to watch.
AOL UK senior editor, Sonia Brar, said: "For AOL UK and the internet, this is a significant event - it's the first time a major publisher has used a live webcast in this way and illustrates how the internet can be a creative and genuinely informative part of a wider marketing campaign."
In the run-up to the webcast, AOL UK is also running a competition to win the chance for a family to join Jamie in his kitchen for the event. The winning family will have a once-in-a-lifetime cooking lesson with Jamie and help him cook the treats he's planning live online. Entry is simply by creating and submitting a short video showing how much you need Jamie's help in the kitchen. The competition is open to all AOL subscribers, or web users who create a free AOL webmail account.
