It does this by polling your email server and making a note of all the messages it thinks are spam. You can then manually (or automatically) delete them in MailWasher, so that your email program only downloads the good messages. It's not quite as easy to use as some of the other programs, although it almost achieved a 100 per cent success rate. 197 emails checked. 192/194 spam emails detected. 99 per cent success rate.
