This review updated: 30/03/2006 Featured in magazine: Issue 132 Manufacturer Contacts: Web Address: www.mustek.com This device is slightly older than some of the other players available, so it doesn't have all their snazzy features and has a slightly smaller, standard ratio screen. It can record multimedia through its AV socket though, so you can record straight from a TV, and it has a Secure Digital slot to make it really easy to back-up photos from a camera that shares the same memory card format. While it's not as versatile as some players it still has a decent sized 40GB hard disk and is significantly cheaper than its rivals. Some of that saving has been made on software design though, and the programs that come with it to help you transfer video and other media from your PC to the device are over-complicated and under-explained.

For a media player of this type it's cheap and cheerful, but you may end up having to convert video into formats it'll accept. And as you're already forking out £200, you might as well shell out a few quid extra and get a device that'll streamline the process a bit more. |
