The Clié PEG-TJ27 is a very neat PDA but it falls down on its lack of audio compatibility when compared to Palm's Zire 71, an otherwise similar concept. The Sony model stands out with a higher specification, though you should expect this on a newer product, and a nicer feeling camera. So if simple pictures are higher up your agenda than a few tunes, this could still be the device for you.

For a mid-priced PDA the Zire 71 is packed with features. The lack of a browser was a little disappointing, but is easily outweighed by the addition of the camera, the audio equipment and the lovely screen. Combined with its good looks and comfortable build, this is a PDA purpose built to impress your friends.

Overall, we felt the Jornada was just a touch too bulky, and although it has an excellent range of features, it's not as visually impressive as either the XDA or Handspring's Treo range. If you really want a Pocket PC-based all-in-one device then it's worth a look, but we still reckon the Palm-compatible Treo 180 offers the best combination of PDA and phone features – especially now it supports GPRS. The Treo 180 also costs a lot less at £200 with a contract.
