This camera compresses video using the MPEG2 (DVD quality) standard rather than the newer, more compact MPEG4. Along with the high-quality lens and standard camcorder-like features, this produces sharper footage, which is captured at a maximum resolution of 704 x 576 pixels. The problem is the file format saved onto the video card isn't native to Windows, so you have to go through a conversion process to view it on a PC.
