One thing you probably won't want to do on your widescreen monitor is have web pages open full screen, as scanning across all that space isn't the easiest way to read their content. However, this Philips model lets you rotate the screen round 90°, so it's more akin to a newspaper page than a widescreen TV. It has both DVI and VGA connectors (and cables), a USB pass-through if your current ports are out of reach, and good performance. It will set you back a few quid more than its rivals though.
