StuffIt is more generally recognised as a compression tool for Apple computers, which explains the program's support for the SIT format in addition to ZIP, RAR and the lesser used ARJ, ARC and LHA.

A number of wizards are on hand to simplify tasks such as compressing files and emailing them, or uploading via FTP.

If you don't need to create compressed files, only extract them, the free StuffIt Expander is available for download from the website.
