If money were no object, these superb quality speakers would be Gold Award winners without a second thought. Anyone looking for a set of speakers that plug into a wall and turn your MP3 player into a decent portable stereo, will find what they want in the Boomtube. Although it looks more like something you might transport hazardous materials in, the main body of the device is a serious subwoofer, while the two speakers twist off the end and connect to the main body with their own cables.

Although this doesn't have the ability to take batteries and give you sound on the hop, and is also very heavy to lug around, it's better for the kind of traveller who wants to fill their hotel room with sound at the end of the day rather than those constantly on the move. The subwoofer will make all the difference to people who care about the depth of their audio experience and, in what is perhaps the best touch of all, the volume dial goes up to 11. Let's rock!
