However, it does have a button to allow quick snaps, and its USB 2.0 connection means it can handle video capture at 640 by 480 pixels. At its most basic level, the drivers alone can be installed if you just want to use the camera in an instant messenger without any fussing about. It also comes with optional image-editing and video-capture software, which provide the tools needed to capture and manipulate the camera's output.

The Spacecam's picture quality is excellent, largely owing to the increased resolution, and it performs nice and fast thanks to its enhanced connection. But while low on extra features, it's a decent option for anyone who already has a microphone or wants something that simply takes video and stills.
