Taking this monitor out of the box, we were almost fooled into thinking it wasn't a widescreen model at all, as there's a large chunk of plastic at the bottom of the monitor that squares it off. In fact, this houses a set of 2-watt stereo speakers, though having them so prominently positioned on the screen is likely to annoy you if your existing speakers are better. Performance-wise it holds its own with good contrast and viewing angle, and hiding the control buttons at the side seems highly sensible.
