If you're looking for a really small player you could do a lot worse than this tiny device, which isn't much bigger than the 2.5in screen it's built around.

Instead of a hard disk the Wigo 1000 uses Compact Flash memory cards or Microdrives (neither of which is supplied) for storage. This limits capacity, but you can swap cards in and out, giving potentially unlimited storage if you are happy to build up a large collection of memory cards.

The price is quite high considering the lack of storage, but Compact Flash memory is quite cheap now so you can get a 1GB card for around £30. For more storage you'll have to go down the Microdrive route, but these still don't get much bigger than about 10GB and the price of these disks dwarfs the cost of the player.

Verdict
This is a functional and convenient player, but if you're serious about carrying your media around with you, you'll probably want to buy one of its meatier rivals that comes with a bigger screen and serious storage.
